Replace a Lost or Stolen Driving Credential
If your New Mexico driver license is lost or stolen, and you want your replacement license to have a different driver license number, you must notify the police department and file a report. Then, bring the following to a MVD Field Office along with all required docs:
- A copy of the Police Report
- A signed statement saying that you want MVD to issue you a new driver license number because your old license was lost or stolen.
Fees for Replacement of a Lost or Stolen New Mexico Driver License
The fee is $18.00 for a four-year license or $34.00 for an eight-year license. Drivers who are 79 years old or older are not charged a replacement fee.
